Sugar-Free Hot Chocolate (x4 Alternatives)

Decided to give a recipe I found on another blog (Cooking without Limits, would recommend you check it out) a go. Turned out pretty well and tasted amazing.

I wanted to see if this recipe (attached below) can be altered slightly, and here are my results (only four of the six different recipes I tried tasted great and yes I have time on my hands 🙂 ).

Protein Kick Hot Chocolate

Preparation Time: 1 min | Cooking Time: 5 mins

Serves: 1

Ingredients:

  • 30g of Unflavoured Whey Protein Powder
  • 180ml of Unsweetened Almond Milk
  • 60ml of Water
  • 2 tbsp of Natural Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • ½ tsp of Vanilla Extract
  • ½ tsp of Sweetener (Stevia)

Instructions:

  1. In a small saucepan, pour your almond milk and water.
  2. Heat on a medium-low.
  3. Add in your protein powder, cocoa, sweetener and vanilla, whisking to a smooth consistency.
  4. Pour into a cup/mug off your choice.

Dark Hot Chocolate Surprise

Preparation Time: 1 min | Cooking Time: 5 mins

Serves: 1

Ingredients:

  • 180ml of Unsweetened Almond Milk
  • 60ml of Water
  • 2 tbsp of Natural Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 1 tbsp of Chopped Dark Chocolate (85%)
  • ½ tsp of Vanilla Extract
  • ½ tsp of Cinnamon
  • ½ tsp of Sweetener (Stevia)

Instructions:

  1. In a small saucepan, pour your almond milk and water.
  2. Heat on a medium-low.
  3. Add in your cocoa, sweetener, vanilla, cinnamon and half your dark chocolate, whisking to a smooth consistency.
  4. Pour into a cup/mug off your choice.
  5. Sprinkle the rest of the dark chocolate on top.

Irish Twist Hot Chocolate

Preparation Time: 1 min | Cooking Time: 5 mins

Serves: 1

Ingredients:

  • 180ml of Unsweetened Almond Milk
  • 60ml of Water
  • 3 tbsp of Irish Whiskey
  • 2 tbsp of Natural Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • ½ tsp of Vanilla Extract
  • ½ tsp of Instant Coffee
  • ½ tsp of Sweetener (Stevia)

Instructions:

  1. In a small saucepan, pour your almond milk and water.
  2. Heat on a medium-low.
  3. Add in your cocoa, sweetener, vanilla and coffee, whisking to a smooth consistency.
  4. Pour into a cup/mug off your choice.
  5. Stir in your whiskey.

Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate

Ingredients:

  • 180ml of Unsweetened Almond Milk
  • 60ml of Water
  • 2 tbsp of Natural Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • ½ tsp of Vanilla Extract
  • ½ tsp of Caramel Extract
  • ½ tsp of Sea Salt
  • ½ tsp of Sweetener (Stevia)

Instructions:

  1. In a small saucepan, pour your almond milk and water.
  2. Heat on a medium-low.
  3. Add in your cocoa, sweetener, vanilla, caramel and salt, whisking to a smooth consistency.
  4. Pour into a cup/mug off your choice.

Cooking Without Limits

Who doesn’t love hot chocolate? With cow milk, almond, rice or any other milk a hot chocolate is just amazing anytime of the day. Hot chocolate is there when you are happy or sad, when you are celebrating or when you have a broken heart. Chocolate is your best friend. Keep it very close and spend time with your friends as often you like.

I know I am. So, if I don’t want that my friend to become an enemy I make myself a vegan sugar-free hot chocolate.

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • ½ tablespoon maple syrup
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 cup of almond milk
  • ¼ teaspoon homemade vanilla-rum extract
